About Me

I’m Andy Milmine.

I am a CIMA qualified accountant and AMCT qualified treasurer. I was born in Brazil but grew up in England and now live in Spain. For about eleven of the last thirteen years I have worked in Gibraltar.

This site/blog is mostly meant to be about my travels as a volunteer accountant through AfID (Accounting for International Development). Earlier this year (2019), I spent seven amazing weeks in beautiful Belize, six of which I was working with Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, for the last four days I was on Caye Caulker, where I did six dives in the Caribbean Sea which were awesome. I loved Belize and cannot wait to go back.

I am currently in Zambia where I will be staying until early to mid-December working for Sunny Money, a distributor of solar powered lights, aimed at reaching people who cannot afford or do not have access to electricity and with the mission to eliminate reliance on kerosene lamps which are both uneconomical and unhealthy.

“The value of your travels does not hinge on how many stamps you have in your passport when you get home — and the slow nuanced experience of a single country is always better than the hurried, superficial experience of forty countries.”
