If you have never been to Chile then you need to put it on your list ASAP, and near the top. It covers 2,500 miles from North to South, which is more than any other country and the variety of climate and geography is obviously incredibly varied. I am lucky enough to have been to the lake district area towards the south, the central part around Santiago and also the Northern part near and in the Atacama region. Believe me, all are spectacular, in no small part due to the fact that the Andes Mountains are visible wherever you go. See photos from my last trip below, which was all near San Pedro de Atacama. The sunsets there are awe-inspiring. And if that is not enough then try a trip out at night for some stargazing where you will be amazed by the billions of stars you never imagined were there.
